The North Carolina Highway Patrol will hold a two-day campaign looking for distracted drivers on Triangle area interstates this week.

Wednesday and Thursday, troopers will focus their attention on I-95 from the Virginia State Line to Johnston County, I-85 in Durham County and I-40 in the counties of Johnston, Wake, and Durham.

It’s illegal in North Carolina to text while driving. Officers will also be looking for anything that takes a person’s attention away from the primary task of operating the vehicle. That includes eating and drinking, grooming, reading, watching a video or adjusting a radio, CD player, or MP3 player.
